'Abd al-'Azīz Ibn Bāz 
His Life: 'Abd al-'Azīz Ibn 'Abd Allāh Ibn Bāz was born in 1909 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and died Thursday morning, May 13, 1999.
His Studies: Ibn Bāz personally studied with many prominent scholars such as Muhammad Ibn 'Abd al-Latīf Āli-Shaykh and Muhammad Ibn Ibrāhīm, the former Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia.
His Position(s): Ibn Bāz was appointed as a judge and he worked for fourteen years in the judiciary. He then taught at the Riyadh Institute of Science in the Faculty of Sharia in 1961. He was then appointed as Vice President, and later President, of the Islamic University in Madinah. He was also later appointed as the President of Islamic Research, Call, and Propagation. Ibn Bāz held numerous other positions, the most famous of which is that of the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia from 1993 until his death in 1999.
